Numerous industrial psychologists have demonstrated that psychic pay is just as important as monetary pay. Napoleon once declared, “I could conquer the world if I just had enough red ribbon.” Therefore, it is vital to the harmony and motivation of your staff to compliment them when they do something worth recognizing. If you praise them with a concrete specific example, then it is even a better reward than “thanks for doing a good job.”
Bottom line: Have you complimented your staff lately? If not, take just 30 seconds to do so. It will make their day and it will result in even better care that your staff can offer your patients.
